it's been a long time.

i just wanted to put up a poem i wrote an insanely long time ago.

Truth

The castle was quiet and dark

The décor was untouched

Perfect, as always

The air was still

No sound was made

Even though there were people everywhere

People, bustling here and there

People, speaking to each other

But no sound was made- lips moved, but nothing was heard.

She ran down the hall

Her long gown sweeping the hall as she flew past

Her heels slapping the cold, hard stone, echoing off the walls

She made noise

Shaking the ornaments that were elegantly placed throughout the corridors

They smashed to the ground, no longer perfect.

Her curls fell out of their meticulous style

The hair combs fell out, the delicate jewels shattering as they hit the ground

She looked disheveled, not the material of a courtier

She made noise

She ran screaming throughout the castle

But no one turned

The other courtiers did not notice

Their smiles would not fade.

Hers had faded long ago

She was through with the routine

She was through with the tradition

She was through with the façade

Tearing through the halls, screaming
”Listen to me!”

She did not matter, no one paid her attention

They continued smiling

As it was their purpose

To please someone else

Sprinting through the castle

She passed a mirror

She stopped dead in her tracks.

In the mirror was her true self:

Long, golden curls out of place

The cosmetics had worn off her face

Her exquisite gown was torn from when she ran

She had thrown off her heels, she was her true height

She was herself.

No longer a courtier

Forced to smile

Forced to laugh

But free.

She was liberated from the weights that had held her down

She took a deep breath, and she turned around.

The torches that had barely been burning suddenly burst into flame

Sconces fell to the floor, as the fire spread

She walked calmly throughout the abandoned halls

Now she heard screaming.

The fire grabbed the tapestries

The flames licked the furnishings and spread everywhere

The others were yelling

She was strolling through the palace

As if the world was perfect.

As the castle crumbled to ash, she couldn’t hear a thing

She stepped into winter

And laughed

She smiled as she spun in the falling snow

And as the cold embraced her

She never felt warmer.

it's going to be in the literary magazine, but no one reads that to my knowledge, so i figure if you're bored, this might occupy you.

kay guys talk to you later <3

well, happy belated two thousand five.

i just got back from being on the E TEAM ON BRAINSTORMERS!!!! best day of my life. even though i was out of my house at 615, it was marvelous.  we slept on the bus and got food and ventured to yale.  i was on the E team with cakes, michelle and jeremy. we kicked ass. no one expected us to win, but our record was 2-4. not bad not bad. i actually answered some questions. so that was amazing in itself. then we went to lunch at The Educated Burgher. woo.

Then all of the brainstormers chilled in the hallway while we found out who was in the playoffs or not.  Tim accidentally leaned on the fire alarm.  it went off.  our building was completely evacuated.  three firetrucks came.  blayne was laughing like an absolute maniac. it was hilarious.  after they made sure there wasnt a fire, we found out the E team was the only team out of ours to not make the playoffs.  oh well.  i watched the B team's playoff match, but fell asleep during it, and when i woke up, sarah kicked everyone's ass and had answered this extra question that determined if they won or lost. YAY SARAH! then i watched their next match and nearly blurted out the answer to an Eleanor of Aquitaine question.  key word nearly. sigh.

then... i think everything went downhill after that cause i think everyone lost so we got back on the bus and waited for like 40 minutes on the bus so we could get our buzzer systems back. after that test of our patience, we ventured to cracker barrel for dinner. by then it was like 845.  three fourths of my table (the one fourth being tim), had breakfast for dinner. jamie and i found out we're very much alike.  even she shares a passion for ducks. well, she likes them, but that's good enough for me.  we had this really good chocolate fudge coca-cola cake.  it didnt taste like it had coke in it, but whatever, it was amazing.

by the time we left it was like 10ish and i got home around like... 1215. wow.

so to sum up.... the brainstormers are insane amounts of fun, and today (technically yesterday) was one of the best days of my life.

i love you all.

been a long time, hasnt it, mister xangaman.

i'm gonna be cool and put up a poem i wrote. and i usually dont write poems. so remember this. cherish it. and whatnot.

Red

Green

Yellow

And blue.

A gentle wind pushing them along the sandy shore

As the sun sets behind them

Red, is the passion that is their love

Green, is the color he sees as he stares into her eyes

Yellow, is the happiness of their relationship

Blue, the colors of the waves crashing upon the beach

Erasing their footprints from the sand

They glance at each other

And smile

They exchange words

And laugh

Words are misspoken

Laughter turns to anger

Colors flash before his eyes

Red, for the blind rage

Green, the color he turns; he’s nauseous watching her run away

Yellow, the color of the stars as they begin to peek out

Blue, the wild waves crashing upon the beach

Erasing the heart he drew in the sand

The sun sets

And darkness falls.

yesterday was mucho mucho fun so i'm going to share it with all of you.

i ventured to ana's house for a lotr marathon. when i arrived, i found bambos helping ana's littler cousin with piano, matt running around like a lunatic, and ana running at me screaming "DUKEEEEEEEEEEEE". that's only the beginning. we had pillow fights, and matt chasing me because i held ana's legolas poster which matt despised. then we chilled waiting for sasso. then sasso came and we commensed watching lotr the two towers because we were short on time.

it was me, ana, bambos, matt, little cousin andy, stephie, chris, savas, and doris and we were one bunch of ADD dudes. so then after an hour of constant talking and tickling through the movie, we decided to go outside.

then we stayed outside for like 6 hours. it was awesome. we played soccer, volleyball, attempted football, some basketball, tunnel tag, freeze tag, hide and go seek, and then when it got dark we played flash tag/man hunt. only since we were kind of scared of the dark since ana has a huge yard, we had buddies for flash tag/man hunt. me and ana were buddies and when we almost got tagged, we spazzed and ran into one another. it was funny, but i guess you had to be there.

i guess to had to be there for all of it, but it was insanely awesome.

then i came home and slept. i slept. and slept. and slept until  3 in the afternoon. then i made pasta. and i ate it and it was yummy.

the end.

<3 ana!
